What is a "Local" Move?

A move is considered "Local" if both the origin and destination fall within a 50 mile radius of St. Catharines.

How are charges calculated?

Charges for a local move are calculated on an hourly basis which is determined by the number of movers required for your move and the time of year that you are moving. Charges are calculated from the time the crew leaves our facility until they return. Additional services such as packing, crating and storage are available at an additional cost.

How can I save money on my moving costs?

We offer a varied rate structure for the summer and winter seasons. As well, we offer reduced rates during "non-peak" times of the month. As a rule, it is less expensive to move in the winter than the summer and it is also less expensive to move during the middle of the month than the end of the month.

How do you estimate the time that is required for my move?

Typically, we would have one of our moving Consultants visit you at your home in order to view the effects that you'll be moving. Our Moving Consultant will factor the volume of goods, the loading conditions at your home and any other special requirements in order to determine the time required for your move. While at your home, our Moving Consultant will answer any questions you may have. Subsequently, you will be presented with a written estimate which will outline all of our estimated charges.

Are my goods insured during my move?

Many home owner and/or tenants home insurance policies provide coverage during the course of a move. This coverage varies from company to company so it is recommended that you contact your insurance agent or broker to determine whether coverage will be extended to your move. If you require coverage from us, we offer several different types of coverages to suit your needs and budget, speak to your moving consultant to determine which coverage is best for you.
