It's the little things we do

It's the little things we do

Moving is a hassle, there’s no question.

Weeks of packing and wrapping precious home goods are followed by weeks of unpacking and unwrapping, along with strategic re-organization and sometimes a little renovation thrown in.

When Bird’s Moving & Storage crews can make your day go a little more smoothly just by doing a few little things, we hop to it.

One example might be putting your bed together. If our crews took your bed apart, we will put it back together.

That’s actually one of our frequently asked questions: “Do I need to dissassemble anything?”

We like to tell our clients that we don’t want to waste their time on moving day. Here’s how it works:

If you took small furniture or appliance items apart to more easily pack them for moving, we won’t waste your time, nor add to your moving day bottom line, by spending time putting these back together.

For larger items, like beds or bed-chesterfields, we are quite happy to take these apart for you to move them, then reassemble them at your new location.

Bird’s Moving & Storage experts have been taking beds apart since 1933 and we have become quite good at it!

And it’s just a little thing, but when your day is done, we want you to be able to fall into bed – after all, you have had a long, difficult day!

One of our packing tips is to add the bedding you will need into a duffle bag containing everything you require for a couple of days: Clothing; shoes; toiletries; towels; a box of tissues; fresh bedsheets; pillows; comforter; alarm clock and medications.

Take the duffel bag with you in your vehicle, and put it directly into your new bedroom. After we put your bed together, you’ll be able to take a moment to dress it up, all ready for your eventual bedtime.

When the tiredness hits – and it will – you’ll have one fewer thing to worry about.
